The Logistics Manager is responsible for organizing and coordinating all internal and external material and goods flows. The role focuses on implementing and developing advanced planning and management strategies to optimize logistics processes and reduce overall logistics costs.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and control logistics costs, ensuring continuous optimization.
Manage and allocate the logistics budget in line with the company’s financial objectives.
Oversee inventory control and optimization, ensuring on-time delivery performance and achievement of logistics KPIs.
Lead and coordinate new product launches (NPI), including ramp-up and phase-out of parts related to engineering changes, as well as end-of-life product management.
Implement and maintain management systems related to quality, health & safety, and environmental policies within the logistics department.
Ensure compliance with customs regulations and oversee customs-related processes.
Manage procurement of transportation services and ensure availability of additional logistics services; handle and resolve transport damage claims.
Optimize packaging solutions from a logistics and transportation perspective, including implementation of returnable packaging systems for customers and suppliers.
Prepare and manage packaging cost calculations.
Lead and monitor logistics-related investment projects.
Ensure efficient work organization to secure timely procurement and supply of materials and components in required quantity and quality; decide on external sourcing when necessary.
Coordinate product lifecycle processes including product launches, engineering changes, and phase-outs.
Lead, motivate, and develop team members, make personnel decisions in cooperation with senior management and HR.
Ensure effective organizational structure within the logistics function through proper delegation of responsibilities.
Requirements
Proven experience in logistics management, ideally in a manufacturing or automotive environment
Strong knowledge of supply chain processes, inventory management, and transportation logistics
Experience with budget management and cost optimization
Knowledge of customs processes and international logistics
Leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop teams
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Fluent English,German high advantage,Slovak/Czech native
